Why the raised fist?

The formative days of biker culture where (coincidentally?) shared with the heady days of social and political upheaval in the 20th century.  The upraised fist of the revolutionary, a symbol of solidarity between the disparate but united movements, was adopted by riders for much the same reason.  It's not what you ride; it's that you ride...
